Ficus long island is good hardy plant, fast growing, well branched and as a specie, reaching great heights in nature, many of them featuring aerial roots in tropical climates. Slim trunk hand trained bonsai plant. Also grow in beds and landscape area.
Plant Type. Indoor as well out doors
Product Height. 12 to 24 Inches (including pot)
Age: 3-4 ears
Position: Robust tree that does well both indoors and out. Can tolerate low light, but grows more strongly with high light & warmth. Ficus are tropical-prefer 55F°+. Never allow Ficus to freeze. Slightly moist soil, But do not let the soil dry out.
Watering: Water during dry spells, or – better yet – set up a regular watering schedule that allows time for the plant to dry out between watering.
Fertilizing: Fertilizing isn’t a necessity but we recommend you apply a high-quality granular fertilizer in spring, summer, and fall.
Pruning: Prune to maintain shape, it’s best to prune in spring when they produce a milky white sap that you can use to heal the plants’ wounds.
Parts of the plant contain toxins…the milky sap inside stems can cause skin irritations, so wear gloves when trimming and handling cuttings.
Repotting: Repot the tree for every 2-3 years.
Propagation: Easy to propagate using cuttings during the summer.
